Kathleen Frankle, DDS, FACD

Kathleen Frankle, DDS, FACD, has been in full-time private practice in Washington, D.C. and Maryland since 1988. She became board certified in 1993.

Education
Dr. Frankle is a 1985 graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. She subsequently completed a one year general residency, followed by an endodontic residency at the same college, obtaining a Certificate in Endodontics as well as an MS in Oral Biology in 1988.

Professional Recognition
Dr. Frankle has been recognized numerous times professionally, including:

  • In 1993, achieving the highest level of excellence recognized in her specialty, earning the distinction of Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Frankle is also a charter member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Endodontics.
  • In 2003, induction into the American College of Dentists, an invitational dental society recognizing those practitioners with excellence in publications, leadership in dentistry, and participation in community activities.
  • In 2006, induction into the International College of Dentists, in view of her contributions to the art, science, and general welfare of the dental profession.

Memberships
Other activities in the dental community have included:

  • Past member of the executive committee of the Southern Maryland Dental Society, as well as membership in the D.C. Dental Society, a constituent branch of the American Dental Association
  • Member of several study clubs, including the Edward C. Penick Endodontic Study Club
  • Past president of the Greater Washington Academy of Women Dentists
  • Through the Maryland State Dental Association, a participant in the mentoring program at the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery
  • Member of the Board of the Alumni Association of the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery

Clinical Instructor
Dr. Frankle has been a clinical instructor in immunology at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC as well as at the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. She has served as a consultant to the National Institute of Dental Research (NIDR).
